Ideas for fundraising in food service

CuBE • Oct 31, 2018

This October marked another Breast Cancer Awareness month and we are happy to share some ways that our customers are using pink CuBE containers to support the cause.

MERCHANDISE

One of Cube customers placed pink CuBE football-shaped containers in 360 luxury guest suites of a well-known stadium during the month of October. Popcorn was served to guests during all events and a mirage of pink football containers lined the bistro tables in each suite. The containers were custom branded with the recognizable professional football team logo, making them a popular commemorative to-go container for guests who wanted to remember the experience.

GO PINK

Every October, one of Cube’s pizza chain customers launch an awareness campaign. Their stores “go pink” by using pink CuBE containers, large pink pizza boxes, pink uniforms and pink decorations. They donate $1 from every campaign deal sold in addition to a percentage of sales for every large size pizza sold, wings offering in pink Cube container and in-store and online donations. They believe that their efforts get attention and remind people of the importance of Breast Cancer Awareness. Their goal is to inspire people to join the fight and let those who have been touched by cancer know they are not alone.

DONATE PROCEEDS

One of Cube’s customers has partnered up with the Susan G. Komen foundation, a leading organization in the fight against Breast Cancer. The foundation provides access to screening and diagnostic services, as well as support for treatment. For this partnership, all their locations in Texas are serving their Loaded Queso nachos in CuBE’s pink football-shaped container and are donating $1 from each purchase to local Texas Susan G. Komen chapters.

PARTNER FOR SUCCESS

CuBE partnered up with a popular restaurant chain for a Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. As a part of this initiative, this restaurant will use pink CuBE containers for all their take-out. Cube will donate a portion of the container sales to Sense of Security charity, a cause supported by the restaurant. The efforts of Sense of Security charity provide financial support to enhance the Quality of Life for Breast Cancer patients in Colorado.

CuBE

CuBE Packaging Solutions has been partnering with customers with their pink football shaped containers to help promote Breast Cancer Awareness for 3 years. In addition to these initiatives, at home, CuBE together with their employees supports many community outreach programs as well as charities. One such charity is The Canadian Cancer Society.

Educating employees, while creating team involved activities such as Bake Sales and High-End Garage Sales are only some of the ways in which awareness is spread and donations are obtained for such a worthwhile cause.

We hope these ideas inspire you as you plan your next charitable or fundraising initiative. Let us know how you’re using your CuBE container!

We know food containers well - we manufacture them! Our motto has always been ‘RE-USE’ and that’s why we made products that are durable and versatile for use by businesses and consumers alike. Our recent article describing the different end-of-life options for food service waste explained that each option – biodegrading, composting or recycling – requires some level of processing that is attached to its own environmental footprint. All except re-using, which is when a food container is repeatedly used for the same purpose: to contain food. But re-purposing is just as green of an option and the possibilities are endless when you use a container for non-food purposes. We started an idea-sharing display at work called “Life After Food”, where our colleagues brought in some inspired ideas on how they’re re-purposing their CuBE containers at home. Here are our top 10 favorites:
